Educación a distancia: La integración de las nuevas tecnologías y las nuevas generaciones

El mundo no es el mismo, vivimos en una era digital, cuando nos sentamos frente a un computador nos sumergimos en un espacio infinito de redes interconectadas por protocolos internacionales que constituyen una red lógica única de alcance mundial, la cual conocemos como “Internet”.

En la actualidad el Internet ofrece millones de aplicaciones y servicios, las redes sociales son parte de este enorme público, de seguro usted abrió una cuenta en Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat; o recibe estado de cuenta en su correo electrónico, utiliza aplicaciones móviles desde su teléfono celular. La transmisión datos nos permiten enviar y recibir archivos, imágenes, y voz; los servicios de transmisión datos son infinitos y están siendo aprovechados de diferentes formas, sobre todo en el campo de la educación.

Las tendencias actuales en el campo de la educación a distancia indican un cambio en las perspectivas pedagógicas y marcos teóricos, la interacción de los estudiantes con los docentes en las nuevas plataformas de estudio. Los trabajos digitales, las bibliotecas en línea, y los salones de clases virtuales, ofrecen una amplia gama de oportunidades para promover el aprendizaje. Los programas de educación a distancia de todo el mundo se enfrentan a nuevos desafíos frente a las nuevas tecnologías.

En Ecuador, la UCSG afronta estos nuevos desafíos tecnológicos, permitiendo que en el acto educativo se empleen nuevas técnicas y estrategias de aprendizaje centradas en el propio estudiante, disponible por el momento para las siete carreras de grado en el Sistema de Educación a Distancia: Mercadotecnia, Turismo, Derecho, Trabajo Social, Emprendimiento e Innovación Social, Contabilidad y Auditoria, y Administración de Empresas. Las plataformas de estudio facilitan la educación, permitiendo la ayuda con las tareas y asignaciones. El auto-aprendizaje guiado es entretenido y nunca ha sido más fácil para los estudiantes a acceder a la información educativa desde cualquier lugar. El internet se ha convertido en un importante facilitador de la educación.

No hay edad para empezar a estudiar, sobre todo para estudiar a distancia, los jóvenes inician sus estudios universitarios luego de concluir el bachillerato, a los 18 años; hoy en la segunda década del siglo XXI, estos jóvenes son la generación “Y”, conocida como generación milénica, los Millennials.
